On a recent television advertisement, Republican Presidential hopeful, Mike Huckabee, was talking about doing away with the IRS completely. Although I would love for this to be a reality, I don’t think it is fiscally practical.
The government doesn’t work on a budget they way most individuals do. Instead, they “predict” how much money will come in next year and spend that. A major revamping of the income system would require a major cutback on spending FIRST.
Still, I like the boldness that Huckabee has to even suggest the IRS be gone. It makes me wonder if maybe there is an audit somewhere in his near future.
