Freedom of speech is a valuable thing for most Americans.  It gives us the right to protest when we thing an issue, law, or person is wrong.  It gives us the ability to work for change.  It is one of the core beliefs that our founding fathers put into the development of this country.

Freedom of speech does not mean that you can do what ever you want or say what ever you want regardless of the circumstances.  This MIT college student who made a fake bomb - as ART? - needs to go back to basic history and learn what free speech is really about, and art is not one of the goals.

Even before 9/11, walking into a crowded airport with a fake bomb strapped to your waist was not a smart (or legal) idea.  She is lucky that she was only arrested for her little stunt.  If I had been the judge, I would have made her bond as high as I possible could make it.  This is just wrong.

Although her stunt was bad, the fact that people are defending her is even worse.  I don’t care how educated this girl might be or how many awards she has won in the past.  Wearing a fake bomb into an airport - even if you tell people it is a fake bomb and just some “art work” is just plain stupid.
